ABOUT DONNA HESCOTT

Thank you for loving Our wedding candle!

My story began 40 years ago, in the north of England, I was a 10-year-old girl who just loved hosting discos in my dads garden shed every Sunday night! With the windows blacked out with garbage bags and a silver foiled soccer ball hanging from the ceiling, my room was set. My grans old vintage wooden box style radio played the countdown and I lit up the room with my coloured torch and I could not have been happier. The only rules for entry were that you had to help lug all dads’ tools back inside at the end.

I could never imagine at that time that I would meet the love of my life and quickly move to the other side of the world to Australia and spend 20 years of my life growing and creating my own wedding venue, Sylvan Glen Estate. Along with my husband, his parents (and now our own teenage children), we are very much a family affair.

I have made many friendships over the years and hosted 100’s of beautiful weddings – I just love the excitement of all the morning preparations – it’s infectious! I kept thinking about how those memories for the bride could be saved other than in photos and reignited (literally!) and then it hit me – the power of smell! A candle of course! Long story short, Our wedding candles are locally made in the Southern Highlands of Australia. Hand poured, the fragrances reflect the seasons and now you know the story!

The rules are very simple; Just light your candle in your bridal room whilst getting ready for the big day and then again together with your new husband the morning after your wedding day, take in the beautiful aroma wafting around the room. Then pop it away carefully and bring it out on your anniversary and all your lovely wedding day memories will come flooding back! Store it well and light for an hour or two and it will keep for years!

I would love you to share your story with me, so please email me or find us on the socials! I promise to reply.

Love,

Donna Hescott
